80596 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for Rail: Further to WPQ 75327, has the planned reopen date of the Tawhai Tunnel changed at any point since the partial collapse?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised KiwiRail has been carrying out repair work 24/7 and, as advised to the Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee on 5 December, the tunnel is expected to be reopened in mid to late January 2025.
