The initiative aims to better align working hours and planning with train-free periods, ensuring optimal use of maintenance windows across the network, including regional and metropolitan areas. Infrastructure Green Time – Golden Triangle This project aims to enhance track access for Track Maintenance crews performing light maintenance tasks between train operations within the Golden Triangle. The focus is on refining train schedules and timetables to provide sufficient daylight windows for crews to complete standard maintenance work in compliance with required standards. Infrastructure Auckland Metro Infrastructure This project is focused on addressing the challenge of greater volumes on the Auckland Metro Network resulting in greater maintenance requirements but reduced access to the network. Infrastructure Relay Room Standards Project This project aims to develop task instructions for the inspection, overhaul and emergency provision of relays agreed between the relay room and engineering. GJNZ Onboard Service Structure This project focuses on reforming the onboard service structure and transforming the delivery of customer experiences. It aims to empower our teams to excel in providing the new premium Scenic Plus service while elevating the overall customer service standards of the Scenic product. RSAS Palmerston North Loco Servicing Roster Project This project is about the co-design of a roster for the RSAS Palmerston North Servicing teams’ roster. RSAS Group 10 Bogie This project at the Hutt Workshop focuses on creating a modernised production area for Locomotive Bogie Overhauls. The initiative aims to eliminate safety risks, improve operational efficiencies, and reduce costs associated with bogie overhauls. RSAS Quality Improvement Project This project involves a comprehensive review of the second-person critical check system used in all Locomotive, Wagon, and Passenger Carriage maintenance tasks. The objective is to ensure the system remains effective in enhancing safety, maintaining quality standards, and reducing risks across maintenance operations. RSAS Pay Progression This initiative involves reviewing and recommending updates to the pay model for Rolling Stock Maintenance employees to better align with the evolving demographics of our workforce. RSAS Waltham Relocation This project involves collaborating closely with our frontline teams in Christchurch to facilitate a seamless transition from the current location to the new Waltham Maintenance Hub. The work includes coordinating the relocation of teams, machinery, and equipment, as well as aligning hours of work and operational processes. Operations Locomotive Engineer OJT This project focuses on designing and implementing improvements to the current Locomotive Training procedures. Key initiatives include standardising training materials and practices to ensure consistency and quality across the board. Operations Freight Ops Rostering This project has been completed. It resulted in 7 initiatives to improve the processes between the national rostering centre and the regional managers. KRG Transition to Retirement. This initiative aims to establish a company-wide retirement policy that facilitates a smooth and supportive transition from full-time work to retirement.
