80574 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Associate Minister of Health: What steps has she taken, if any, to implement a Home and Community Support Services demand planner, like the Te Whatu Ora | Health NZ Aged Residential Care demand planner that tracks current and projected demand for beds in Aged Residential Care, as recommended in Recommendation 20 of that Aged Care Commissioner's March 2024 report?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that work is underway to develop a nationally consistent minimum data set for Home and Community Support Service delivery volumes and client information for districts with bulk-funding models of service. This data, combined with data from fee-for-service providers, will enable planning for future demand and inform service development. It will also provide greater visibility of clinical assessment information to inform equity access planning. The first iteration of this national data set is on target to be delivered before the end of March 2025.
