78959 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: How many FTE staff are currently assigned to work on the bird flu response?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: There are over 200 FTE staff working on the H7N6 HPAI 2024 response. MPI staff are assigned to a wide range of roles supporting the response at both a national and regional level. This includes surveillance and laboratory personnel undertaking diagnostic testing, staff supporting the trade response, and operational activities on the ground.
