78877 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Housing: What information regarding conflicts of interest is explicitly requested or expected to be declared as part of the appointment process for Crown boards within ministries, departments, and agencies for which the Minister is responsible?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that candidates are asked to declare any financial or non-financial matters they are interested in, or are likely to be interested in, relating to the entity they may be appointed to the board of.
I am advised that andidates are asked to use the definition of “interested” in section 139 of the Companies Act 1993 for Tāmaki Redevelopment Company Ltd, and section 62 of the Crown Entities Act 2024 for Kāinga Ora. For quantifiable interests, candidates are asked the monetary value. For non-quantifiable interests, candidates are asked to give the reason why it is not quantifiable.
