78875 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What information regarding conflicts of interest is explicitly requested or expected to be declared as part of the appointment process for Crown boards within ministries, departments, and agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Crown entity board candidates are expected to declare any interests in line with the provisions set out in sections 62 to 72 of the Crown Entities Act 2004. Candidates for all health statutory roles (including Crown entity boards) are also required to identify and declare any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may impact on the performance of their duties should they be appointed to the role.
