Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Corrections: Has the process for appointing individuals to Crown boards within ministries, departments and/or agencies for which the Minister is responsible changed since 27 November 2023, if so, what specific changes have been made to the process, on what date did those changes occur, and what advice or reasoning, if any, informed those changes, listed by title and date?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The appointment process to Crown boards is governed by relevant legislation including the Crown Entities Act 2004, State-owned Enterprises Act 1986 and the Companies Act 1993. Appointment processes for these Acts have not changed. Establishment legislation for each Crown body may make specific provisions for board appointments.
