78740 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Auckland: Further to paragraph 24 of the Cabinet Paper titled: Coordination of Government
Initiatives and Engagement in Auckland, on what occasions, if any, have other Ministers come to him to consult on matters "coming before Cabinet that will have a significant or disproportionate impact for Auckland" by date, title of Minister and title of concern?
Hon Simeon Brown: As Minister, I regularly engage with my Ministerial colleagues, including the Minister for Auckland, on a range of issues affecting my portfolio through various channels, including in-person conversations, phone calls, and discussions on portfolio matters at Cabinet Committees. I note that 57.8 per cent of Auckland voters elected our Government to get Auckland back on track, and that is what our Government is doing. This includes axing the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax, delivering tax relief for hardworking Aucklanders, avoiding a 25.8 per cent water rate hike with the delivery of Local Water Done Well, opening a new state-of-the-art radiology machine at the Auckland City Hospital Regional Cancer and Blood Service, welcoming a new 24/7 police station in central Auckland to restore law and order, and restoring democratic decision making to transport governance in Auckland.
