78738 (2024). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What information was provided to the Minister in relation to inflation prior to her announcement on 1 February 2024 and who provided the information relied on?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I was provided with the most up-to-date economic data and forecasts prior to my minimum wage announcement in February 2024, including consumers price index forecasts released by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in November 2023 (Monetary Policy Statement November 2023) and the Treasury in December 2023 (Half Year Economic and Fiscal Update 2023), and the annual inflation figure for the year ending December 2023 released by StatsNZ in January 2024.
