78736 (2024). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What advice did the Minister rely on in making her recommendation in relation to the minimum wage to Cabinet, the outcome of which was released on 1 February 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I do not rely on any one source of advice. I considered advice and analysis on minimum wage options prepared by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). After I received MBIE’s advice, new economic data and forecasts were released which I also took into account when deciding what minimum wage rate to recommend to Cabinet.
