78603 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police: On how many occasions in the last 12 months, if any, did a child spend a night in a police cell?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between December 2023 and November 2024, a total of 40 Children (aged 10-13 years) spent at least some part of the night in Police custody before being released to Whānau or other government agencies.
