Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open with employees on the week beginning 25 November 2024, regarding any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles, if any, could be affected?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that, for the week beginning 25 November 2024, the New Zealand Customs Service has commenced one consultation process regarding changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions. Five roles are affected. This response is inclusive of the staff of the Border Executive Board Secretariat as these staff are considered employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
