Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open with employees on the week beginning 25 November 2024, regarding any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what date are any such consultations expected to close?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that for the week beginning 25 November 2024, the New Zealand Customs Service has commenced one consultation process with employees regarding changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions. This consultation process closes on 5 December 2024. This response is inclusive of the staff of the Border Executive Board Secretariat as these staff are considered employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
