78519 (2024). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How much will making everyone supported by an employment case manager entitled to a work-readiness needs assessment cost, and what advice did the Minister receive on its potential impact?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development had IT costs associated with implementing Individual Job Plans that were covered from their baseline budget. Individual Job Plans are only being implemented for clients in dedicated case management. Assessing clients’ needs is already part of case management practice. The implementation of individual job plans is to make Case Management more robust and to provide enhanced tools for case managers to assess clients’ needs and work through barriers to support them into employment and meet their obligations.
