77293 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the three months to 2 December 2024 to add 50 new medical school places, to grow our domestic training pipelines?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: The Government has committed to increasing the number of medical school places. As part of the manifest commitment, Budget 2024 provided an increase of 25 places from 589 to 614 places starting in 2025. The Ministry of Health will provide me with advice on any further increases to the number of medical school places.
