77148 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Infrastructure: Can the Minister provide a timeline of his workplan, to date, for infrastructure?

Hon Chris Bishop: In May 2024 Cabinet endorsed my Improving Infrastructure Funding and Financing work programme. I have communicated this widely and the relevant Cabinet paper is available at: https://www.treasury.govt.nz/sites/default/files/2024-06/cabinet-paper-eco-24-sub-0076.pdf. Last month I announced enhancements to the Government’s PPP Policy. This was a much need update last many years of inactivity and we are now ready to undertake further projects using this model. Recently, I also announced the release of the Funding and Financing Framework and Guidelines for Market-led Proposals. In October 2024 the Government also proactively released my Infrastructure Priorities Cabinet paper at: https://www.treasury.govt.nz/sites/default/files/2024-10/cabinet-paper-eco-24-sub-0048-infrastructure-priorities.pdf. This included an indicative work programme current as of April 2024. Since this date a number of programmes have been completed. This includes, but is not limited to, the establishment of a National Infrastructure Agency, the publication of a market-led proposals framework and improvements to Infrastructure Funding and Financing. I will continue to refresh this work programme to ensure the delivery of my priorities.
