77016 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 72596 (2024) what youth justice tasks and duties, if any, is the listed new Oranga Tamariki Training Lead role required to undertake, and what percentage of the role is youth-justice specific?
Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the Training Lead is responsible for:
• Leading the development of evidence-based, well researched training programmes that keep rangatahi at the centre of what we do and reflects the commitment of the Youth Justice Services and Residential Care network to working in trauma informed, care-centric ways.
• Enabling the delivery of training to kaimahi across the unit nationally in a way that is organised, well planned, and well executed.
• Working with the Youth Justice Services and Residential Care leadership team to ensure that there are appropriate evaluation methods in place that provide feedback and deep insight into the effectiveness of the training that is being delivered, so you are set up to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
I am further advised that there is no set percentage for this role that is youth justice specific. It is dependent on the operational needs and focus at the time for the Youth Justice Services and Residential Care group.
