76997 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: How, if at all, were Ōtautahi communities consulted on the new charter school due to open in Term 1 2025; if no consultation with the community took place, why, and when, if ever, can they expect to be consulted?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Charter School Agency (CSA) that details of the community consultation process and activities for new schools were not prescribed by the CSA or the Authorisation Board. The sponsor was responsible for undertaking their own consultation and documenting this in their application.
