76850 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has the Ministry of Health assessed the risks associated with reducing IT staff numbers at Health NZ, particularly regarding cybersecurity and system downtime in hospitals, if so, what relevant advice exists, listed by title and date?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Ministry of Health is involved in the change processes underway, and will be providing ongoing feedback. It is important for the Member to note that the change process underway at Health NZ is currently a proposal, consultation is ongoing, and no final decisions have been made.
