76829 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What steps are being taken to support any IT staff at Health NZ who are at risk of redundancy, including redeployment opportunities?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand will uphold its responsibilities under the Employment Relations Act 2000, including consulting with employees and unions on any proposed disestablishments; ensuring a fair change process is in place, and that reasonable time is allowed for feedback. I am further advised that where staff roles are confirmed as being disestablished, Health NZ will provide additional support and resources through access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) support, Wellbeing Resources, and career coaching services.
