76803 (2024). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What action, if any, does the Minister plan to take regarding funding of GeoNet and the National Seismic Hazard Model?

Hon Mark Mitchell: In response to a funding gap that threatened the sustainability of aspects of GeoNet, this Government allocated $106.943 million in Budget 2024 to support core functions for GeoNet and the National Seismic Hazard Model over the next four years. This funding, which is baselined and no longer time limited, is additional to approximately $44 million (over 4 years) in Government agency funding which purchased specific services.
