76617 (2024). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: What progress has been made since he took office on progressing the pre-existing worksteam on the development of a regulatory regime for offshore wind?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will be aware, the previous government did not establish an offshore renewable energy regime. Our Government has moved at pace to make policy decisions to introduce a Bill that enables offshore renewable energy to be in place by mid-2025 with the aim of opening a first feasibility permit round in late 2025. I have now introduced the Offshore Renewable Energy Bill.
