76543 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: How much, if anything, did the the Ministry of Education, as a children's agency, spend in financial year 2023/2024 on Oranga Tamariki-related activities and/or services, disaggregated by activity or service?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that in the 2023/2024 financial year $1,538,614.05 was spent, including both remand homes and youth justice education assessments on Oranga Tamariki-related activities and/or services. The Ministry is unable to differentiate spend between remand homes and youth justice education assessments because total budget funding allocation for education in remand homes also includes youth justice education assessment funding.
