76534 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Police: How much, if anything, did the New Zealand Police, as a children's agency, spend in financial year 2023/2024 on Oranga Tamariki-related activities and/or services, disaggregated by activity or service?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that in the 2023/24 financial year Police allocated $1.147m to provide services for children and young people who experience family violence in the form of the Childrens Flexi Fund. This funding was received in Budget 2020. Providing a breakdown of activities that Police spent on Oranga Tamariki related activities and to know the total cost spent on these activities would require considerable effort to assemble. The time and associated cost in obtaining this information are not, in my view justifiable.
