76533 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Police: How much, if anything, did the New Zealand Police, as a children's agency, allocate for expenditure on Oranga Tamariki-related activities and/or services in financial year 2024/2025, disaggregated by activity or service?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that in the 2024/25 financial year Police have allocated $1.147m to provide services for children and young people who experience family violence in the form of the Childrens Flexi Fund. This funding was received in Budget 2020. Providing a breakdown of activities that Police intend to spend on Oranga Tamariki related activities would require considerable effort to assemble. The time and associated cost in obtaining this information are not, in my view justifiable.
