75805 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter July to September 2024 to adopt a consistent, national approach to how we fund and support health placements?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, a draft of the national Student Clinical Placement and Access Agreement, which replaces legacy agreements between 20 districts and over 20 education providers, was prepared for consideration by signatories. The draft agreement, which will cover all education providers, includes promoting retention; matching placements for student training in allied science and technical health careers, and ensuring placements provide diverse experiences.
