75801 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter July to September 2024 to expand access to earn-as-you-learn programmes that help students train while they work in health, with an initial focus on paraprofessional, assistant and kaiāwhina roles?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand funding was available for up to 50 Kaiāwhina to complete supplementary training through Te Pūkenga over a 12-month period. I am further advised that during the quarter Health NZ continued to explore with providers opportunities to expand cadet programmes.
