Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the proposed action ‘develop and agree national guidelines for local implementation for priority acute models of care (e.g. HiTH; early supported discharge; MH&A model of care; Frailty pathways; POAC; 7 day ways of working)’ under ‘Strategic Priority Area 5: Driving operational improvement’ within Te Whatu Ora’s ‘Acute Care Plan 2024’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, work began on expanding to other districts the START Early Supported Discharge programme which has been established in Waikato and Canterbury. This included the scoping of opportunities for each district to implement the programme.
