Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the proposed action ‘establish and implement a project to ensure consistent and appropriate access to tests in rural settings, to improve timely diagnostic capability’ under ‘Strategic Priority Area 5: Driving operational improvement’ within Te Whatu Ora’s ‘Acute Care Plan 2024’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand progressed work on the Rural Hospital Sustainability Project and the Rural Urgent Unplanned Care redesign project. These projects will result in recommendations to enhance access to diagnostics in rural settings.
