75552 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: In relation to Reply 73554 (2024) does the work on reforms to modernise the Companies Act 1993 include work on a beneficial ownership register for companies and legal partnerships?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am currently progressing reforms to modernise the Companies Act 1993 and make other improvements for business. These reforms do not cover a beneficial ownership register. I will work with my Ministerial colleagues in the Justice sector to determine the best way forward for the beneficial ownership work.
