75546 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Women: What guidance, if any, has the Minister's departments, if any, given staff regarding attendance at Hikoi mō te Tiriti on 19 November 2024?

Hon Nicola Grigg: The Ministry for Women provided advice to its staff in line with the Public Service Commission’s guidance on political neutrality for public servants as individuals. Guidance to staff included: • Public servants having the same political rights as all New Zealanders, but ensuring their actions maintain the political neutrality of the Ministry. • Staff attending the Hīkoi in their personal time were to do so without representing the Ministry which includes removing Ministry branded lanyards and ID cards. • Annual leave must be taken if staff plan on attending during work time
