75544 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What guidance, if any, has the Minister's departments, if any, given staff regarding attendance at Hikoi mō te Tiriti on 19 November 2024?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that the Transport Accident Investigation Commission and Maritime New Zealand gave written advice to staff regarding working arrangements for those who travel into the city on the day of the Hikoi. They also provided information from the Public Service Commission on political neutrality. In response to verbal queries from individual staff about attendance, they were informed that they should ensure they were not wearing TAIC-branded clothing, and they would need to attend on their own time.
