75477 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Health: What guidance, if any, has the Minister's departments, if any, given staff regarding attendance at Hikoi mō te Tiriti on 19 November 2024?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that Pharmac provided the following guidance regarding attending Hikoi mō te Tiriti to all people leaders with the intention of passing to all staff: - Staff who wished to attend would need to take annual leave or use TOIL hours if available; and - The Collective Employment Agreement provision for Whānau/Hapū hui/Wānanga or Cultural Obligations leave doesn’t apply in this situation. Staff were also referred to guidance published by the Public Service Commission concerning managing potential political interests outside of work.
