75178 (2024). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: To what extent, if any, was the team, or teams, responsible within the Ministry of Social Development for the weekly reporting of income support and hardship data affected by cuts to the Ministry of Social Development?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that external reporting on income support is delivered by the Strategy and Insights group. This group went through a change process as part of the Ministry’s wider change process, with a reduction of 23 FTE. This did not impact the Ministry’s ability to deliver income support reporting products. As part of its regular business processes, the Ministry reviews priorities and allocates resources to new and emerging work for example, new quarterly reporting on Government targets, and stops reporting that is no longer required, such as weekly reporting of income support and hardship data.
