75154 (2024). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How much higher, or lower, is the amount of people currently on jobseeker compared to what was forecast for this period, expressed as a number?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that since BEFU 2024, the number of people receiving Jobseeker Support has increased faster than expected due to weak economic and labour market conditions. As at October 2024 the number of people receiving Jobseeker Support is around 205,000 which is around 9,300 people (4.7 percent) higher than forecast at BEFU 2024. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 75153(2024).
