74192 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 in actioning the recommendation ‘Education for antenatal health workforce (including midwives, antenatal obstetric clinics, general practitioners, obstetricians, pharmacy, labs and so on) with an expectation that antenatal immunisation will be discussed’ under ‘Priority Area 3: Antenatal immunisations’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that this action is complete. Health New Zealand continues to promote both the IMAC toolkit for midwives that was launched in 2023, and the four-hour IMAC free online training course, Maternal Immunisations Essentials for Midwives. In addition, a training course for pharmacists to become whole-of-life vaccinators is available, and regional vaccinator wānanga events are held.
