74164 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 in actioning the recommendation ‘Work with Te Whatu Ora commissioning team, Te Aka Whai Ora, and other relevant entities to implement long-term, stable funding that provides comprehensive and equitable care to tamariki, including immunisations. This includes funding for coordination and monitoring at district level’ under ‘Priority Area 7: Funding for providers that is long-term and sustainable’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Hauora Māori providers contracted under the Immunising our Tamariki programme delivered tens of thousands of additional vaccinations for whānau throughout the country. This included a strong focus on influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as reaching out to whānau with pēpi and tamariki, as well as hapū māmā, to encourage them to receive vaccinations.
