74122 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the priority action ‘remove barriers for disabled people to complete health care qualifications and enter the health workforce (This will better enable the disabled health workforce to build the careers they want and work safely and effectively within a team to support better health outcomes for other disabled people and their whānau. It will require the health system to change how it develops and recognises skills and capabilities and change the models of working that are funded or encouraged, as well as safe working environments and enabling workplace cultures.)’ within ‘Priority 4: Build health workforce capacity and capability to meet the needs of disabled people and their whānau’ as part of the Ministry of Health’s ‘Provisional Health of Disabled People Strategy: 2023’?
