73962 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: How many roles, if any, did the Minister's departments, if any, lose from 1 November 2023 to 1 November 2024, and how many of these roles, if any, were in the Otago region?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that for the period 1 November 2023 to 1 November 2024 (inclusive), 121 roles were disestablished within the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs). These disestablished roles include staff opting for voluntary redundancy or enhanced retirement options, redundancies resulting from Customs’ organisational change process, other small restructures and the completion of a project. There were two Customs roles disestablished in the Otago region. The decisions on the disestablishment of these roles is the responsibility of the Comptroller of Customs.
