73570 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister of Conservation: Is the Department of Conservation still funding Save our Kiwi research, including long-term monitoring of managed population of two species of kiwi?
Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation confirms that funding long-term research and monitoring via the Save Our Iconic Kiwi programme continues for three kiwi species. This long-term research and monitoring is quantifying the benefits of aerial 1080 use for Southern Fiordland tokoeka, roroa (great spotted kiwi) and rowi. Department of Conservation operating figures show that for this financial year research and monitoring is planned for Southern Fiordland tokoeka ($185,000), roroa ($80,000) and rowi ($265,000).
