Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation reduced funding for research into mitigating kea mortality associated with predator control activity in the 2024/25 financial year, following the completion of several research projects commissioned in 2023/24, and to achieve budget savings targets. The budget reduced from $385,000 in 2023/24 to $90,000 in 2024/25. Monitoring and research into bait palatability continues.
