73562 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Are applicants’ conflicts of interest required to be listed before or after appointments are made to boards at the Department of Internal Affairs?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that applicants applying for a position on a statutory body are required to declare conflicts of interest as part of their expression of interest, before appointments are made. Members of statutory bodies are also expected to keep the chairperson or presiding member informed of any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
