72713 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister responsible for the NZSIS: How many Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) consultations, if any, occurred in the Minister's departments, if any, from 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2023 and what was the cost, if any?

Hon Judith Collins: As Minister Responsible for the NZSIS, I am advised that at least 321 consultations occurred during this timeframe, through both internal and external providers. The staff predominantly use in-house wellbeing services, given both the classified nature of what they do and the challenging material their work can involve. I understand some consultation figures could not be provided for this timeframe. In considering this, I note that the agency has a number of shared functions with the GCSB, with staff supporting both agencies. I consider it is not in the public interest for me to provide details of costs associated with these consultations.
