72654 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: How many Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) consultations, if any, occurred in the Minister's departments, if any, from 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2023 and what was the cost, if any?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that for the purpose of clarity in responding to this question, the Ministry of Health has defined a ‘consultation’ as a single wellbeing support session through its Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider. At a minimum, individuals are entitled to five consultations for a range of wellbeing support services. For the period 1 November 2022 and 1 November 2023, the total cost of EAP service was $73,317.60 (excl. GST), which also includes delivery of workshops and call-out for on-site support. There were 392 consultations utilised through the Ministry’s EAP provider during this period.
