72597 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: How many health and safety incidents, if any, occurred in the Minister's departments, if any, from 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2023?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised by Tertiary Education Commission between 1 November 2022, and 1 November 2023, the TEC had 28 health and safety incidents reported. These included 5 near misses and 23 cases of pain and discomfort resolved through a workstation assessment. In relation to New Zealand Qualification Authority and Ministry of Education, I refer the Member to the Minister of Education's response to written parliamentary question 72651 (2024). I am advised that, from 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2023, Education New Zealand recorded 18 health and safety incidents, including near misses.
