72423 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: Were the Minister's departments, if any, invited to submit for new spending initiatives or cost pressures for Budget 2024?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Yes. On 21 December 2023, the Minister of Finance invited all Ministers to submit for spending initiatives associated with Government policy commitments and/or time-limited funding, and critical cost pressures. Invitations to submit were received for two initiatives in Vote Arts, Culture and Heritage: the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate (Domestic) (time-limited funding) and Te Matatini - Funding to Stimulate the Sustainable Growth of Kapa Haka (time-limited funding).
