72336 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received concerning decarbonising the mining industry, listed by agency, title and date received?

Hon Simon Watts: In my capacity as the Minister of Climate Change, I have received one briefing in relation to decarbonising the mining industry: 2/05/2024 - BRF-4151: Meeting with the Minister for Energy and Minister for Resources on carbon capture utilisation and storage Additionally, the second emissions reduction plan, which I consulted on publicly in July and August, contained proposals to achieve the second emissions budget and step New Zealand down towards the 2050 target. A technical annex accompanying the public consultation contained detail on all sectors, including mining. I will publish a final second emissions reduction plan before 31 December 2024.
