Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the total headcount of staff in Hospital and Specialist Services, Hauora Māori Health Services, and others, for the quarter ending 30 September 2024 was 102,767. I am further advised that this includes all staff captured by Health New Zealand payrolls in the relevant period, regardless of their contract type (casual, permanent, fixed term, contractor). External contracts paid on invoice are not captured, as this data is not paid via payroll systems. These numbers are provisional and subject to QA processes.
