Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the action ‘We will set and maintain strategic direction and develop policies to deliver the Government’s objectives for the health of the population, the role of the health system and the people who work within it’ under ‘priority area of focus 2: We will set the direction for health and the health system to achieve pae ora’ within ‘Developing the future Ministry of Health: Our strategy and strategic intentions 2022 - 2026’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that progress against the Ministry of Health’s ‘Developing the Future Ministry of Health: Our strategy and strategic intentions, 2022 to 2026’ has been reported in the Ministry’s Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2024. The Annual Report was presented to the House of Representatives in October 2024 and published on the Ministry’s website. The Ministry of Health’s Strategic Intentions 2022–2026 has been replaced with the new Strategic Intentions 2024–2028. The document was presented to the House of Representatives in October 2024 and published on the Ministry’s website. The Ministry will be reporting annually on progress against the Strategic Intentions 2024–2028. Therefore the Member’s requested time period (July – Sept 2024) is yet to be reported and will be covered in the Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2025.
