Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the action ‘We will maintain the wider regulatory and legislative environment to support health entities to carry out their functions’ under ‘priority area of focus 3: We will enable and support the ongoing improvement of health outcomes, quality and safety’ within ‘Developing the future Ministry of Health: Our strategy and strategic intentions 2022 - 2026’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the quarter July to September 2024, progress has been made through the Ministry’s review of the operation of the End of Life Choice Act. This commenced in July 2024 with the publication of the terms of reference and work on the review continued through the July to September 2024 quarter. The Ministry is also testing a review framework for regulatory regimes.
